Key Responsibilities:
Test Design & Development:
· Develop and manage detailed test plans and procedures aligned with customer requirements and program objectives.
· Define, coordinate, and oversee test setup, execution, and teardown, including fixture and equipment readiness.
· Ensure test activities meet program goals, schedules, and quality expectations.
· Support and oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Qualification Testing, and Product Validation Testing efforts.
Test Conduction & Validation:
· Support the specification and development of test fixtures, test stands, instrumentation, and equipment required to execute aerospace testing.
· Review and ensure all test-related hardware complies with applicable standards (e.g., AISC, AWS, AS9100) and performance requirements.
Collaboration & Communication:
· Engage regularly with executive and senior management to provide project updates and gather feedback.
· Partner with cross-functional teams, including aerospace engineers, manufacturing specialists, and clients, to define project goals and deliverables.
· Provide technical guidance and support during sales processes, system integration, installation, and commissioning phases.
· Deliver detailed reviews, test reports, and project updates to stakeholders.
· Interact frequently with shop floor to ensure project progression; may have daily presence on shop floor.
· Participate in project development of manufacturing plans, schedules, and quality plans.
· Review purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the required criteria and provisions are met.
· Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
· Research and integrate advanced technologies for management recommendation as applicable for aerospace and manufacturing.
· Identify process improvements to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of program test protocols
· Other duties as aligned with evolving organizational needs.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
· EIT certification preferred
Experience
· 5+ years of experience in structural/mechanical/ test design in aerospace or manufacturing environments.
· Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Product Validation Testing, Qualification Testing required
· Project management experience preferred, Scope, schedule cost cognizant
· Deep knowledge of industry-specific standards, such as AISC, AWS, NACE , and applicable regulations.
· Experience working under Quality Management System preferred, such as, but not limited to AS9100, IS9001, NQA-1
· Experience working under Government Contracts preferred.
· Working knowledge of CAD systems for understanding test fixture design (Creo, Autodesk preferred).
· Understanding of FEA or structural analysis is beneficial
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test specifications
· Working knowledge in FEA Simulation and Structural Analysis software
· Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, management, and customer representatives
· Demonstrate confidence and professionalism when interacting with high-level executives and government personnel.
· Skilled at adjusting communication style to engage various stakeholders while maintaining composure and fostering positive relationships.
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
· Ability to work off shifts and weekends if required
· Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required
· Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
· Ability to adapt to a dynamic workload, effectively managing daily changes in scope, schedule and budget.
· Some Travel may be required to support project needs.
